Varicose and Spider Veins

What are varicose veins and spider veins?

Varicose veins are enlarged, twisted veins visible just under the skin, commonly found on the legs. They occur when vein valves fail, leading to blood pooling and veins bulging. Spider veins, on the other hand, are smaller, red, blue, or purple veins that appear close to the skin’s surface in a web-like pattern. Both conditions result from similar vein valve issues, but spider veins are generally less severe in terms of symptoms and appearance.
