Erbium/ YAG Laser

Our Erbium/YAG Laser is a high-powered laser that removes or shaves a thin layer of the skin, effectively treating seborrhoeic keratoses, solar keratoses, and skin tags.

It targets the water component in the skin, evaporating unwanted lesions and leaving the skin clear.

Common questions

Does the treatment hurt?

Most patients experience minimal, if any, discomfort during treatment. A topical anaesthetic is usually applied 1 hour prior to treatment to keep you comfortable.

Will there be downtime after treatment?

Yes, downtime is expected. The treated area may appear red, scabbed, or slightly raw for several days. Healing time can vary depending on the area treated and the size/depth of the lesion. Most commonly you can expect the lesion to be visible for 7 - 10 days post treatment.

Will I need more than one treatment?

While most lesions can be removed in a single session, some require a follow-up if they are larger, deeper or if multiple areas are being treated. Expected results and number of sessions will be discussed during your consultation.

Will there be a scar?

Erbium:YAG laser treatments are designed to minimise scarring. However, some pinkness or slight textural change can occur, especially if aftercare instructions are not followed.

Do I need a skin check before treatment?

While a skin check is not mandatory, we strongly recommend having one within 12 months of your appointment. During your consultation, if our team identifies any concerns or if a lesion appears suspicious, we will advise accordingly and refer you to our dermatologist, Dr Brittany Wong, for further assessment before proceeding with treatment.
