KEY BENEFITS
Our state of the art device utilises two different wavelengths (532nm & 1064nm) to target a variety of vascular lesions at different depths. We also utilise the Candela V-Beam, which has a 595nm wavelength and can also be used for a variety of vascular conditions.
Common questions
How does the laser treat redness?
Using precise laser technology, we can target individual or widespread vascular conditions. The laser light is absorbed by the target chromophore, haemoglobin, causing a cascade effect that collapses visible veins. A side effect of the treatment is the stimulation of collagen and elastin through heat, enhancing the body’s regenerative processes to recalibrate the skin structure, minimising diffuse redness.
Does it hurt?
Each patient has their own unique pain threshold; some describe the sensation as a rubber band tapping the skin. To help manage discomfort, we use a zimmer cooler, ice packs, and a vibrator to disrupt pain sensations.
What can I expect when I visit for my laser treatment?
We strive to ensure you are comfortable during your laser treatment. We take the time to re-explain the process and answer any last questions you might have. Your skin is thoroughly cleansed, and medical imagery is taken prior to treatment. We then apply eye protection and communicate clearly when the laser pulse will occur, checking in with you throughout to ensure your comfort is maintained.
How many treatments will I need?
Each vascular condition is unique, so we always conduct a skin consultation prior to treatment to assess your condition and provide an estimate of the treatments and pricing.
Will my redness return?
Depending on the condition, some vascular issues can reappear 12 to 24 months later. Various factors can stimulate vascular conditions, such as sun exposure, diet, medication, and genetics. Generally, recurrence is minor, with some broken capillaries reappearing and redness returning. This is often a sign that it’s time for retreatment.
How much will it cost?
A medicare rebate may be available for specific conditions – for example birthmarks and severe facial and neck conditions. Your practitioner will advise you at the initial consultation in regard to costs.
